Loosely based on a folk tale, The Skull is a delicious new adaptation from the brilliant Jon Klassen, known for the Hat trilogy as well as an animator on Coraline.

Exquisitely illustrated in his utterly masterful, darkly minimal style, he tells the story of a little girl running away from something and finding friendship and happiness with, well, a skull.

The writing is delightfully playful, both spooky and surprising in equal measures.

The Skull will enthral any independent reader or younger child being read to.

A beautiful book for all ages!
