We do open Mondays in the school holidays and the occasional Sunday in December … check our social media for updated opening times or call us on 07424 619496.

We can order any book for you

Whilst our shop is small in size (we prefer to call is cosy), we have big ambitions ... so if you can’t see the book you’re looking for, we can often order the book for you by the next working day. (We have access to over 6.5 million titles.)

You can also order by messaging us, either via the website or WhatsApp or email. If you specify what you would like we can then send you a payment link allowing you to pay online for your order … we’ll then contact you with an expected date for you to collect your book.

Bring your dog

We love meeting your dogs, so feel free to bring them along as you browse … we may even provide the odd treat (for your dogs that is …)

Book Club Bulk Purchase Discount

We love supporting local book clubs.

If you are a member of a book club, or perhaps you run one of your own, you may like to know that we can arrange a 10% discount on the purchase of books under certain conditions.

Blue Light Services Discount

We really appreciate and value the work that all of our emergency and health services do day in and day out so as a small thank you, blue light workers will receive a 5% discount on the purchase of most items in our shop (excluding wall art, National Book Tokens and gift vouchers) on presentation of an ID card.

Coastland College Student Discount

We’re delighted to offer a 10% discount on book purchases to students of Coastland College. Simply show your student ID card at the counter to get the discount when buying books (excludes National Book Tokens and gift vouchers).

Teasel and Skylark Gift Vouchers

🎁 Valid only in-store: These vouchers can be redeemed exclusively at our shop

National Book Tokens

We are a member of the Booksellers Association and we sell and redeem National Book Tokens. We have a range of gift cards for all ages and occasions on the counter - and we can redeem your tokens no matter where you purchased them from.

Teasel & Skylark Loyalty Scheme

  • The loyalty scheme is only for purchases in our shop in Trinity Street, Dorchester. Loyalty cards remain the property of Teasel and Skylark and have no monetary value until redeemed.

  • On purchase of items in the shop (excluding wall art, National Book Tokens and gift vouchers) a stamp will be awarded for each whole £10 spent.

  • To earn reward stamps, please present the card at the time of purchase. Purchases made without the card cannot be recorded retrospectively.

  • A fully stamped card entitles you to £5 off your next purchase of anything in the shop except National Book Tokens. The card is surrendered to us at the point of the sale and is regarded as spent.

  • Loyalty cards are the responsibility of the customers and lost, stolen or damaged cards cannot be redeemed.

  • Loyalty cards cannot be used in conjunction with other discounts or promotions.

  • The scheme is for personal use only. Teasel and Skylark reserve the right to cancel any cards if abuse is suspected.
