Opening Hours

We are open between 10am and 4pm on Tuesday through to Saturday (although we do open Mondays in the school holidays and the occasional Sunday in December) - check our social media for updated opening times or call us on 07424 619496.

We can order any book for you

Whilst our shop is small in size (we prefer to call is cosy), we have a big heart and big ambitions. If you can’t see the book you are looking for, please just ask one of us at the counter and we’ll be happy to order it for you - we can normally order most titles … we have access to the UK’s biggest bookseller which has over 6.5 million books in stock.

We can often get the book for the next working day.

You can also order by messaging us, either via the website or WhatsApp or email. If you specify what you would like we can then send you a payment link which takes you to our payment system, Square, allowing you to pay online for your order. Once we have received notification of this payment we will contact you with an expected date of arrival in the shop for you to collect.

Discounts available for Book Clubs

We love reading so we love supporting local book clubs.

If you are a member of a book club, or perhaps you run one of your own, you may like to know that we can arrange a 10% discount on the purchase of books under certain conditions.

National Book Tokens

We are a member of the Booksellers Association and have applied to sell and accept National Book Tokens. Please bear with us whilst we undergo the application process and we will let you know as soon as we are set up with Book Tokens.

Teasel & Skylark Loyalty Scheme

  • The loyalty scheme is only for purchases in our shop in Trinity Street, Dorchester. Loyalty cards remain the property of Teasel and Skylark and have no monetary value until redeemed.

  • On purchase of items in the shop (excluding wall art, National Book Tokens and gift vouchers) a stamp will be awarded for each whole £10 spent.

  • To earn reward stamps, please present the card at the time of purchase. Purchases made without the card cannot be recorded retrospectively.

  • A fully stamped card entitles you to £5 off your next purchase of anything in the shop except National Book Tokens. The card is surrendered to us at the point of the sale and is regarded as spent.

  • Loyalty cards are the responsibility of the customers and lost, stolen or damaged cards cannot be redeemed.

  • Loyalty cards cannot be used in conjunction with other discounts or promotions.

  • The scheme is for personal use only. Teasel and Skylark reserve the right to cancel any cards if abuse is suspected.

🎁 Valid only in-store: These vouchers can be redeemed exclusively at our shop

📅 Expiry date: Our vouchers last 12 months from date of purchase

💵 Voucher value: Available in any amount of your choosing

🧾 Keep it safe: Lost or stolen vouchers cannot be replaced

✅ How to use: Simply present the voucher at when paying for your items. Please note that no change can be given and they cannot be exchanged for cash
