The Whispers of Rock by Dr Anjana Khatwa is quite unlike anything I’ve ever read and moved me in ways that I could not possibly have foreseen.

Whilst crammed with myriad fascinating facts and information on the world’s geology, this is so much more than just another text book, as the author combines the science with a deeply personal and moving account of the ways in which rocks both speak to her and have spoken to cultures all over the world, since the dawn of time.

I couldn’t put it down and when I got to the end I was literally moved to a tear or three … and even wrote a short piece of piano music dedicated to it, as you do.

In a nutshell, an informative, deeply beautiful and poetic piece of writing, straight from the heart. Couldn’t recommend it highly enough. David
