About Peter Tait
Peter Tait is a New Zealand-born author, historian and former headmaster who has lived in Dorset for many years. A lifelong admirer of Thomas Hardy, he has written extensively about Hardy's life and relationships, including the novels Emma: West of Wessex Girl and Florence: Mistress of Max Gate, as well as Thomas Hardy's Women: In Life and Literature. His writing combines meticulous historical research with an accessible style that brings Hardy's world vividly to life.
