Folk Horror Book Club - Shout Out for Members!
Following last week’s amazing General Witchfinders event all about folk horror, we have had quite a few expressions of interest in future events on a similar theme as well as the possibility of a themed book club.
So we are really pleased to say that one of the GW podcasters, Ross Cleaver, has set up The General Witchfinders Book Club in partnership with Teasel & Skylark - and so we are looking for members who wish to discuss a range of weird and unsettling British fiction; from classic gothic tales to modern folk horror. Check out the details below and if you’re interested, send us an email or pop in the shop to sign up for free.

In person
Join our co-host Ross every two months (on the second Wednesday of the month) at the King’s Arms Hotel in Dorchester. These are private, in-person discussions.
The first meeting will be Wednesday 8 July at 7pm.
Spaces are limited – please sign up at the Teasel & Skylark shop or send them an email (teaselandskylark@gmail.com)
The Podcast Series
If you aren’t local, you can follow our dedicated book club series on the General Witchfinders podcast feed. These are separate, studio-recorded episodes where we discuss each book with a special guest. We invite you to email your thoughts or voice notes to generalwitchfinders@gmail.com to be included in the conversation.
July’s Book
Our first read is ‘Starve Acre’ by Andrew Michael Hurley. Roddy Doyle described the novel as ‘genuinely and brilliantly disturbing’.
