Author Talk by Catherine Clarke - A History of England in 25 Poems

We were delighted to host a talk by Catherine Clarke, author of ‘A History of England in 25 Poems’.

Catherine captivated the crowd in The Casterbridge Room at The King’s Arms Hotel in Dorchester, discussing her book and reading some of the featured poems. The book presents a unique and fascinating history of the country, from medieval times to the present day, as told by real people through poetry. The critically acclaimed book has been a BBC Radio 4 Book of the Week, a Times Best Book of the Year, Financial Times Book of the Year and History Extra Book of the Year.

Catherine stayed around to chat with the audience, answer questions, and sign copies of the book. Feedback from the audience members was wholly positive with some saying it had been the best talk they had been to in a long time. We would like to thank Catherine for coming and supporting our small independent bookshop - and we’d like to thank everyone who came along to make the event such a success.
